Your Juvederm Procedure

Your Juvederm injections will be performed in the comfort of Dr. Sukkar’s Houston office. To begin, your provider will examine your face to determine the severity of your wrinkles and folds, as well as to gain a deeper understanding of the results you’d like to achieve. We will then apply a special cream to numb the treatment area(s) to ensure you are comfortable throughout your appointment. From there, we will inject the Juvederm gel in strategic areas on your face to restore lost volume, smooth unsightly wrinkles, and sculpt enhanced facial features. Once the filler has been injected, we may gently massage the area to ensure a flawless final result.

YOUR RECOVERY

As a gentle and non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment, there is virtually no downtime associated with your Juvederm injections. However, you should avoid strenuous exercise, alcoholic beverages, and exposure to excessive sun or heat for at least 24 hours. Immediately after your appointment, you can expect to experience some minor redness, tenderness, firmness, swelling, and bumps in the area. However, these effects will be very mild and should clear up within one week. If you experience swelling near the injection site, it is advised to apply ice packs regularly to minimize these effects. Proper post care instructions will be given following your treatment.

WHEN WILL I START TO SEE RESULTS?

In terms of results, you will see an immediate improvement in the treatment area right after your appointment. Although you’ll undoubtedly be satisfied with your appearance after just one treatment, many of our Houston patients require more than one session to achieve their ideal results. You can expect your smooth and youthful new appearance to endure for up to twelve months, at which point you may require a touch-up treatment to maintain your new look.

Patients who receive Juvéderm treatments have rarely reported any side effects. Although rare, bruising and slight redness can occur around the treated area.

WILL THERE BE ANY BUMPS WITH MY JUVÉDERM TREATMENT?

One of the many good things about Juvéderm is that it dissolves evenly. Therefore, bumps are not an issue; the treatment area will return to the way it was prior to injection.

COULD I BE ALLERGIC TO JUVÉDERM?

Juvéderm contains no animal products. Its main ingredient, hyaluronic acid, is recognized by the body, and therefore, allergic reactions are extremely rare. However, since many dermal fillers include lidocaine, it is important to discuss any previous allergic reactions you’ve experienced with your provider.

WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE MY RESULTS?

One of the good things about dermal fillers is that the results can be reversed with another injection. If you’ve always wanted to go for a more voluptuous lip look, but post-treatment, if you change your mind, it can be done.

HOW MANY JUVÉDERM TREATMENTS WILL I NEED TO MAINTAIN MY NEW LOOK?

Juvéderm results can vary by patient. Typically, a treatment will last anywhere from six to nine months. As you continue with the Juvéderm treatments, they have been known to last a bit longer, sometimes up to one year. For best results, repeat the treatment before the Juvéderm completely dissolves.

IS JUVÉDERM THE BEST FILLER AVAILABLE?

Juvéderm is a great filler and can be used for many applications. Other options include Restylane, Radiesse, Perlane, Sculptra, etc. Depending on which area you want treated can determine which filler makes the most sense.

HOW MUCH DO JUVÉDERM TREATMENTS COST?
