What is a Chemical Peel?

Discover a cleaner face and healthier skin using a chemical peel. Our Houston chemical peel uses skin-safe chemicals topically to dissolve dull, dead skin cells that are mucking up your skin surface. It provides more benefit than at-home exfoliants as the peel penetrates at a precise depth depending on your specific skin concerns. As your skin peels afterward, it reveals a fresh layer of smooth, even-toned skin.

What is Dermaplaning?

For smoother, softer skin try dermaplaning at The Clinic for Plastic Surgery Med Spa. Dermaplaning manually removes the uppermost layer of dead skin and hair with a sterile blade. Since it does not damage the living skin cells, there is no pain or discomfort. This quick, results-driven skin resurfacing treatment unveils skin that is touchably soft with improved clarity and tonality.

Which is right for me?

Both are excellent options to revitalize and resurface your skin. Chemical peels and dermaplaning provide similar results using different techniques. The choice of your skin resurfacing treatment depends on your preference for which treatment you would like to try. To learn more about dermaplaning and chemical peels Houston Med Spa specialists at the PS Med Spa invite you to book a consultation at our state-of-the art facilities. What are the benefits of Chemical Peels and Dermaplaning?

These approaches also create a smoother base for makeup application. These clinically-proven skin resurfacing techniques can help you achieve a reduction in skin imperfections such as:

  • Age spots
  • Sun damage
  • Post-acne scars
  • Rough skin texture
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Fine lines and wrinkles

See what a difference chemical peels and dermaplaning can make to resurface your skin on a deeper level than facials and home exfoliation products!

Chemical PeelsProcedure

We offer light and medium-depth peels depending on your exact skin concerns.

The depth of your peel may vary, but the process is the same. After cleansing your skin of makeup and impurities, your Houston Med Spa facialist will apply a customized mixture of skin-safe ingredients to your skin. The active ingredients initiate a chemical exfoliating process to bring your skin back to life, erasing dead skin cells and surface irregularities for a softer skin texture with a luminous glow. After a few seconds to minutes, they will deactivate the chemicals with a neutralizing solution. Your procedure ends with nutrient-rich serum application and SPF.

Dermaplaning Procedure

In 30 minutes, your skin will take on a baby smooth, revitalized appearance with fewer surface imperfections. Also known as ‘the scalpel facial’ by celebrities, dermaplaning is a convenient non-surgical skin rejuvenation procedure that painlessly removes dead skin cells and facial hair by shaving away the top layer of your skin.

Recovery

Softer, glowing skin is waiting to be revealed. Redness and swelling may occur initially, with the exception of superficial chemical peels, which leave your skin glowy, just like a facial with zero downtime.

Don’t pick at the flakes! Instead, apply a fragrance-free occlusive moisturizer to protect your freshly resurfaced skin. Most peeling resolves in one to two weeks. Your skin will be extra sensitive to the sun, so be sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily for the next two weeks. Your skin may start to peel two to four days after your peel. You’ll also want to avoid active skincare ingredients such as glycolic acid, retinol/retinoids, lactic acid, etc., until your skin heals, as these can increase sensitivity.
